Stephanie + Mark’s Lake George Wedding at The Sagamore Resort
HEAR YE HEAR YE! Everyone behold one of the most classically beautiful and romantically inspired weddings I have ever had the honor to document. Also know as…Stephanie and Mark’s wedding at The Sagamore Resort of Lake George, with florals inspired by BRIDGERTON baby!
Some weddings feel like stepping into a dream, a moment suspended between reality and reverie. This wedding was exactly that—a vision of romance, bathed in soft light (it rained on and off all day), surrounded by the breathtaking cloud covered Adirondack Mountains, and the blue water of Lake George.
The day unfolded quite interestingly…Laurel and I were enjoying coffee outside of the lakeside Inn we were staying, while we watched a couple quite purposely rock and sink their row boat…that belonged to the Inn…which then caused them needing to be saved, and the sunken rowboat had to somehow be retrieved. We soon packed our equipment and headed over to Stephanie’s home...where mist lingered over the lake in the morning, curling around the boathouse docks and lending a sense of anticipation. Inside the bride’s families home, sunlight filtered through the tall windows in between the rain showers, illuminating her veil and the buttons of her gown—a design that echoed the timeless class she was going for.
Everything about their wedding day was sentimental and special to them. Stephanie’s mom had tragically passed away recently, and it was very important to her (and all involved) that they were married in a location where they felt she could be with them.
They were married in the local church, just minutes from the home, and the venue. Her mom’s presence was surely missed and there was not a dry eye to be seen when she was mentioned during their ceremony.
When we got to The Sagamore, Stephanie added a little tulle shrug to her dress and had a hair change, now an updo! So of course we had to take some more bride and groom portraits. While Laurel photographed the guests mingling during cocktail hour, I headed into the tent where I couldn’t believe my eyes…
THE FLORALS. Oh, the florals. Inspired by the lush, decadent arrangements of the Regency period, blooms cascaded from every surface, filling the air with the scent of garden roses, delphiniums, and sweet peas. Renaissance Floral Design quite literally blew my mind.
Photographing this wedding felt like capturing a modern fairytale, a celebration steeped in history yet entirely its own. It was a reminder that love, in all its forms, is timeless. And on this night, under the stars and the Adirondack sky, it felt as if the universe had conspired to create something truly extraordinary, and her mom was most definitely there celebrating with them all.

- How you met
Mark and I met online during the pandemic in 2020. We were doing virtual calls for a few months! My mom was diagnosed with cancer a few months post our meeting and I was unsure if I would be moving back to Manhattan, and we parted ways. When I moved back to the city in January 2022, we re-connected again. He was my first date when I moved back to the city. :)
- How you got engaged
We were engaged in June 2023 in Bolton Landing, NY (where the wedding was). My sister tricked me by asking if I wanted to walk around the Sagamore property with my niece while Mark was golfing. When we got to the balcony area, Mark was waiting with champagne and proposed! When we got back to our family home, my family and Mark’s were waiting at the house to celebrate.

- How you decided to get married at the church
Both Mark and I are Catholic, so we knew we would get married in a church. The church is a local church that both of my nieces were baptized in.
Why you chose The Sagamore
I grew up on the property of the Sagamore, before my family bought a house in Bolton Landing, so it felt like an easy choice. I have many fond childhood memories with my mom and family from the property and with her not being there, it felt extra important to be married in a place that was close to her.
How you chose to have a small wedding party (the BEST decision)
The wedding party was my sister as the Matron of Honor, and Mark’s brother as the Best Man. Our 3 nieces were the flower girls. I wanted a very relaxed morning at my house with my family and my nieces. Having been a bridesmaid in many weddings, I wanted a bit of a slower pace the morning of. Mark was luckily in agreement!

How you decided on your vendors
For both my flowers and day of planner, I utilized the same vendors that my sister did. I trusted both of them, as they are both wonderful people and do amazing work. David, from Renaissance, is such a visionary, and we worked so well together to come up with the tent design/florals. Sarah from Bisou is so lovely, I knew she would make everything run smoothly the day of.
I am so lucky to have chosen the vendors I did, from you to my hair and makeup, everyone made the day so seamless, stress-free, and all around special. When I think back to the day of the wedding, I think of all of you and how happy I was to be surrounded by the talents that were there. I spent most of the morning/day with all of you, and it made such a difference in my experience.

- Your favorite memories from the day
The whole day was so magical, I would not change one thing (even the early morning rain). I think fondly of the speeches from my sister, brother-in-law, and dad. I also loved the dedication song to my mom, as well as the general vibe of the dance floor. The band and guests were having so much fun, which to me was a huge success!
